Create and Assign Work Orders

Create a work order from the maintenance need, verify its details, add the required operations and prerequisites, then review and create it for assignment or release.

Work-order planning follows a normal path, with optional branches based on the work requirements.

  1. Define the work: Start the work order, review AI-suggested details, confirm the equipment and functional location, and set priority and risk.
  2. Add operations: Use a task list or add operations manually. These are alternative methods.
  3. Add prerequisites when required: Add sub-operations, components, permits, Work Instructions, and forms only when they apply to the work.
  4. Finalize: Review work-order readiness, then create the work order for assignment, release, or monitoring.

To create related work from an existing record, use a sub-work order, duplicate work order, or follow-on work order instead of restarting the normal creation path.

Understand a Work Order

A Work Order is a formal request for maintenance, repair, or inspection of equipment. It includes:
  • Task details and instructions
  • Assigned technicians
  • Progress tracking from start to finish

Work Orders help organize maintenance work so tasks are clearly defined, assigned to the right person, and completed without delays.

Create Work Orders Using AI Plan

Work Orders can be created using AI-assisted input (AI Plan). Type a short prompt describing the issue, or upload a photo, and AI Plan suggests:
  • Relevant equipment
  • Likely operations
  • A task description based on your input

Review and adjust the suggested details before saving the Work Order.
