What Your Administrator Controls
Many modules, fields, and scanning options in mInventory depend on settings your administrator configures, most of them in RACE. If something described in this guide is missing or behaves differently, check these settings with your administrator.
About mInventory
mInventory is a mobile inventory and warehouse management solution from Innovapptive that leverages SAP's Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) modules, so that you can work safely, productively, and efficiently, eliminating paperwork.
Get Started
Connect to the server, log in, download the data you need for your shift, and set the language, time format, and text size.
- Connect to Server
  When you open the application for the first time, you are directed to a connection settings screen. Enter the connection parameters and connect to the server.
- Log in to mInventory
  Log in with your username and password, and set up an App Passcode, Touch ID, and Face ID that you can use to log in next time.
- Log in as Another User
  If the user who used the device before you, forgets to log out, you can log out the user and login with your credentials.
- Download Data Needed for the Shift
  You can set the data filters from the app to fetch a specific set of records. Only the required data is fetched for both online and offline use. This feature also helps improve the app performance and reduce the offline sync time.
- Choose Language and Time Format
  Configure mInventory to display the menu items (labels and messages) in the language of your choice, and learn where the 12-hour or 24-hour time format comes from.
- Set Text Size
  Use the Text Size slider to modify the font size of the mInventory application text for readability.
Find Your Way Around mInventory
Learn the Home screen, buttons, and icons, set your default values and favorite modules, and find records by filtering, sorting, and scanning.
Work Offline
When the network connection is low or unstable, you can switch to offline mode and continue working: the transactions that you do in offline mode are stored in Offline Outbox, and they are automatically posted to backend systems when you switch from offline to online mode.
Unit 1: Inventory Management
Check stock, receive and issue goods, count inventory, transfer stock, correct or reverse postings, and verify the resulting material documents.
Unit 2: Warehouse Management
Put away received goods, pick, pack, and stage materials, move stock between bins, count warehouse stock, manage handling units, and monitor warehouse work.
Unit 3: Logistics, Procurement and Services
Raise and approve purchasing documents, confirm services, create and load shipments, and execute Remote Logistics transactions.
Troubleshoot Common Problems
Find what to check when scanning, printing, offline work, synchronization, posting, or counting does not work as expected.

Download Data Needed for the Shift

You can set the data filters from the app to fetch a specific set of records. Only the required data is fetched for both online and offline use. This feature also helps improve the app performance and reduce the offline sync time.

Synchronize and retrieve the delta records from the backend that is required to complete tasks either in online or offline mode. This feature drastically reduces the data synchronization time.

To download the data that is needed for your shift:

In the Home screen, tap the User Profile icon.
Tap User Preferences.

In the Tell Us Your Preferences screen, select the Master Data and Transactional Data that you want to download.
Tap Save when done.
The Progress Bar screen displays the sync status with the success or failure indication.
Note:
- Reset user preferences and re-enter them to fetch relevant data.
- If you select the Online option, Sync in the Background button appears and you can tap that and continue with your work. The data downloads onto your device in the background while you perform your tasks.
- If you have chosen the Offline option, Sync in the Background option will not be available, and you must wait till the entire data is downloaded onto your device.
- When the application switches to offline mode, the header turns red and displays "OFFLINE" to indicate the mode change.
