Close Your Shift

End the shift by bringing active work to a safe stopping point, recording unresolved conditions, and submitting a clear handover to the incoming shift.

The handover should tell the next shift what was completed, what remains open, and what needs attention. Complete the following flow before your shift ends.

  1. Finish the rounds that can be completed. Save work that must continue later, or use the documented skip flow when work cannot be completed.
  2. Record unresolved conditions with the available notes, attachments, Issues, or Actions. See Add Notes and Attachments to a Round and Choose an Issue or an Action.
  3. Log important shift activities that the incoming team should know about.
  4. Submit the Shift Handover Report.

After submission, the incoming shift can review the recorded work and continue the outstanding activities.
