Work Offline and Synchronize Data

Prepare required records for offline work, review pending activity, and resolve synchronization failures.

Prepare Before Going Offline

  1. Confirm the correct plant, work center, and synchronization date range.
  2. Run Manual Sync.
  3. Confirm that required work orders, operations, forms, attachments, permits, JHAs, Work Instructions, and master data are available.
  4. Download Work Instruction media separately when it is required offline.
  5. Review the Outbox and resolve existing failures.

Work While Offline

Supported changes are stored locally and appear in the Outbox. AI services and other online-only capabilities are unavailable.

Warning:
Do not sign out, uninstall the application, clear application data, or delete a pending Outbox record while required unsynchronized work remains.

Synchronize Pending Work

  1. Restore connectivity.
  2. Run Manual Sync.
  3. Review records that are Pending, Syncing, Failed, or Synchronized.
  4. Open a failed record and review the validation or posting message.
  5. Correct the underlying record and retry synchronization.
  6. Escalate unresolved SAP, permission, or server errors without deleting the local record.

Understand Consolidated Outbox Records

A work order can appear as one consolidated Outbox record while its operations, components, forms, issues, or measurements are synchronized. The current activity shown in the Outbox indicates which part of the record is being processed.

After synchronization succeeds, return to the pending work record and continue the task. Resolve any item that remains in the Outbox before completing or closing the work.
