This guide is for Operators who execute rounds in the mRounds mobile app. It explains the conventions, related information, and support contacts used throughout the guide.
What Your Administrator Controls
Some of what you see in mRounds is set by your administrator, so a screen or option described in this guide may not appear on your device.
Overview of mRounds
As an Operator, use mRounds to follow planned inspection routes, record asset readings, report abnormal conditions, and pass accurate information to the next shift.
Start Your Shift
Start each shift by signing in, confirming the correct work context, reviewing the previous handover, and making sure the rounds you need are available.
Find and Claim Your Rounds
Assign an open round to yourself, create an ad hoc round, or unassign a round you cannot complete.
Execute the Round
Use this chapter once a round is assigned to you and you are ready to start work. It sets out the normal path through a round, and the side paths to take when something does not go to plan.
Choose an Issue or an Action
Choose how to record follow-up work when a round reveals an abnormal condition or a separately assignable activity.
Close Your Shift
End the shift by bringing active work to a safe stopping point, recording unresolved conditions, and submitting a clear handover to the incoming shift.
Search and Filter Rounds, Issues, and Actions
Use search and filters when you need to find a specific round, Issue, or Action without scanning every record in the list.

Customize Your Settings
Set your plant, unit, position, and shift, choose what data synchronizes, and change the theme and language.
- View User Profile
  Open your User Profile to review account information and reach the preferences that control data synchronization and app behavior.
- Set Your Work Context
  Set the Plant, Unit, Position, and Shift you are working in. These four values decide which rounds and records reach your device.
- Choose What Data to Synchronize
  Set how far back Rounds, Issues, Actions, Shift Handover Reports, and Shift Logs are downloaded, and whether task reading history comes with them.
- Switch Between Dark and Light Modes
  Choose Light or Dark mode to keep the mobile app comfortable and readable for the conditions in which you are working.
- Change the Language
  Change the app language when another supported language makes field labels and instructions easier for you to understand.

Set Your Work Context

Set the Plant, Unit, Position, and Shift you are working in. These four values decide which rounds and records reach your device.

Note:

You can choose preferences for the Plant, Unit, Position, or Shift only when you are assigned to multiple plants, units, positions, or shifts. If you are assigned to one plant, unit, position, or shift, the option is grayed out and the Unit, Position, and Shift values are displayed based on the selected Plant. A grayed-out option needs no selection, so move on to the next value you can change.

In the User Profile screen, tap User Preferences.
Select a plant from the Plant list.
Select a Unit from the list.
Select a Position from the list.
Select a Shift from the dropdown list.
Note:
The Shift dropdown automatically updates based on your Plant, Unit, and Position selections.
- If only Plant is selected, the dropdown shows Plant-level shifts.
- If Plant and Unit are selected, the dropdown shows the Unit's shifts. If the Unit does not have custom shifts, Plant-level shifts are shown.
- If Plant, Unit, and Position are selected, the dropdown shows the Position's shifts. If the Position does not have custom shifts, Plant-level shifts are shown.

Tap Save.

The application starts syncing data for the context you selected.

Your work context is set. Rounds and records for the selected Plant, Unit, Position, and Shift synchronize to the device, and the Rounds view stays scoped to the unit you are working in.
