Start Your Shift
Start each shift by signing in, confirming the correct work context, reviewing the previous handover, and making sure the rounds you need are available.
These activities prepare the app for your shift and help you begin with the right plant, assignment, and information from the previous team.
Follow this flow
- Sign in with your credentials, or take over a shared device.
- The mobile app supports standard credentials and SAP Identity Provider sign-in when SAP IDP is configured. First-time sign-in may also ask you to create a passcode, enable biometric access, and select your work preferences. See Log in for the First Time or Log in with SAP IDP.
- On shared devices, make sure each Operator uses their own credentials before starting shift work. When a device passes from one shift to another, the outgoing Operator signs out before the incoming Operator signs in. See Hand Over a Shared Device to the Next Operator.
- Confirm your Plant, Unit, Position, and Shift. These preferences determine which data is synchronized to your device. See Set Your Work Context.
- Review and accept the Shift Handover Report. You cannot start a round until the required handover is accepted. See Accept the Shift Handover Report.
- Allow synchronization to finish. When your route includes an area with poor or no connectivity, prepare for offline work before leaving network coverage. See Work Offline.
- Review any pending entries in the Outbox. See Review and Sync the Outbox.
- Use the Home and Rounds screens to review assigned and open work. See Find Your Way Around the App.
Find and claim your rounds
Use the Rounds screen to begin work already assigned to you. You can also claim an open round, create an ad hoc round from a predefined plan, or release work you cannot continue.
Most rounds appear in My Rounds after they are assigned. Use the following path only when your work situation requires it.
| Situation | Continue with |
|---|---|
| A round is already assigned to you. | Open it from My Rounds and execute the round. |
| An unassigned round is available. | Assign the open round to yourself, then begin execution. |
| An unplanned check is needed and a predefined round plan is available. | Create an ad hoc round. |
| You cannot continue an assigned round. | Use Unassign an Assigned Round or Unassign an In-Progress Round, as applicable. |
After a round appears in My Rounds, continue to Execute the Round.
