Create and Manage JHA

Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) helps identify, assess, and control hazards associated with a specific job or activity before work begins. Using configurable templates, you can create, assign, validate, and approve JHAs to ensure risks are properly evaluated and safety controls are in place.

JHA is integrated with the Permit-to-Work process. When a permit requires a JHA, the permit cannot proceed to authorization until the linked JHA is approved. This ensures that hazard identification and risk controls are completed and validated on-site before the permit is issued and work begins.

JHA follows a defined lifecycle to ensure hazards are reviewed and acknowledged before work execution.

A JHA typically goes through the following stages:

At each stage, different users (such as Requester, JHA Owner, or JHA Team) perform specific actions to ensure hazards are properly evaluated and controlled.

Refer to Section Role-Based Permissions for detailed information on which roles can initiate, assign, and approve JHAs.
