Create and Manage Permits
Permit management ensures that hazardous work is properly planned, reviewed, authorized, and executed in compliance with safety requirements. You can create, review, authorize, issue, execute, and close permits to control work activities and ensure all required safety checks are completed throughout the permit lifecycle.
This Section explains how a Permit-to-Work moves from creation to archival, and how responsibility transfers between roles at each stage.
A permit progresses through the following lifecycle:
Raise → Review → Authorize → Issue → Execute → Close
For certain permit types (for example, confined space or hot work), an additional Field Validation stage is required before issuing the permit:
Raise → Review → Authorize → Field Validation → Issue → Execute → Close
Each stage is performed by a specific role and can be completed using the Web or Mobile application based on role-based permissions.
Refer to Role - Based Permissions for detailed information on what each role can view, create, approve, or update in the Permits module, per Persona in the Permits Module.
Important: The Execution stage is performed only in the Mobile application. The Web application is used to manage permits up to the Issue stage and for monitoring and closure activities.
