Preface
This guide is for Operators who execute rounds in the mRounds mobile app. It explains the conventions, related information, and support contacts used throughout the guide.
Overview of mRounds
As an Operator, use mRounds to follow planned inspection routes, record asset readings, report abnormal conditions, and pass accurate information to the next shift.
Start Your Shift
Start each shift by signing in, confirming the correct work context, reviewing the previous handover, and making sure the rounds you need are available.
Find and Claim Your Rounds
Use the Rounds screen to begin assigned work, claim an open round, create an ad hoc round from an available predefined plan, or release work you cannot continue.
Execute the Round
Execute a round by following the route, verifying each asset when required, completing the configured tasks, handling exceptions, and submitting the finished record.

  Start an assigned round and use the route to visit assets in a practical order. This helps you complete the planned checks without missing a location.

Choose an Issue or an Action
Choose how to record follow-up work when a round reveals an abnormal condition or a separately assignable activity.
Close Your Shift
End the shift by bringing active work to a safe stopping point, recording unresolved conditions, and submitting a clear handover to the incoming shift.
Find and Manage Rounds, Issues, and Actions
Use search and filters when you need to find a specific round, Issue, or Action without scanning every record in the list.
Troubleshoot Common Problems
Use this guidance when a round, scan, response, handover, or synchronization step does not work as expected.
Customize Your Settings
Use your profile settings to keep the app aligned with your plant, unit, position, shift, language, and preferred display.

Scan and Verify an Asset

Scan the asset when scanning is configured for the plant. Verification helps prevent readings from being recorded against the wrong equipment.

For example, if a pump-inspection round includes asset P-204, scan P-204 before recording its readings.

When configured: The Asset Scan option only appears when your current plant has scanning enabled. If you switch to a plant where scanning is disabled, the scan option does not appear.

To scan and verify:

Tap Scan Asset in the mRounds mobile app.
Use your device to scan the asset's barcode or QR code.

The round tasks assigned to this asset are displayed.

The asset is verified and its task list opens for you to record readings against.

When the asset cannot be scanned: Tap Skip in the top right corner and select the applicable reason:

Out of service
Damaged barcode
Inaccessible location
Turnaround period
Other (specify reason)

Productivity tips:

Move the Show Open Tasks Only slider to see only the tasks still needing a response.
Use the Page 1, Page 2, Page 3 buttons to move between pages of tasks.
