Schedule a Standing Instruction

Set up a standing instruction in advance for a future date range — for a planned outage, a scheduled audit.

Supervisors can schedule an instruction ahead of time for a specific period. The instruction appears automatically during the scheduled period and disappears when the period ends, helping prevent outdated instructions from remaining on screen.

Instructions support rich text, color coding, titles, and lists.

For example, a planned outage is scheduled for this coming weekend. On Friday, create the standing instruction and set it to apply from Saturday 6:00 AM to Sunday 6:00 PM. The weekend shift will see it automatically, and by Monday it will no longer appear. This also works well for holiday coverage or other planned activities.

  1. Click the More icon in the top-right corner of the Shift Handover screen.
  2. Select Schedule Shift Instructions.
The list shows all the scheduled instructions.
  3. Click +Schedule Instruction.
  4. Enter a Title.
  5. Choose a Report Type (Plant, Unit, or Position), then select the Plant and Unit, if required.
  6. Enter the instruction text and format it as required.
  7. Enter a Start date and an End date.
TIP: Leave End date blank if the instruction should stay active indefinitely, starting from the Start date.
  8. Click Schedule.

The standing instruction applies automatically within its scheduled window, without manual entry each shift.

Next: Edit the instruction while it is active and review what changed. See Version History of a Standing Instruction.
