Preface
This guide is for Operators who execute rounds in the mRounds mobile app. It explains the conventions, related information, and support contacts used throughout the guide.
Overview of mRounds
As an Operator, use mRounds to follow planned inspection routes, record asset readings, report abnormal conditions, and pass accurate information to the next shift.
Start Your Shift
Start each shift by signing in, confirming the correct work context, reviewing the previous handover, and making sure the rounds you need are available.
- Log in to the Mobile Application
  Sign in with the authentication method configured by your organization. On shared devices, make sure each Operator uses their own credentials before starting shift work.
  - Log in for the First Time
    Use the standard sign-in method the first time you open mRounds. The setup also creates your passcode and, when enabled, quick biometric access.
  - Log in with SAP IDP
    Use SAP Identity Provider credentials when your organization has configured SAP IDP for mRounds sign-in.
  - Hand Over a Shared Device to the Next Operator
    On a shared device, sign out the previous Operator before the next Operator signs in. This keeps work, preferences, and handover responsibility tied to the correct user.
- Accept the Shift Handover Report
  Review and accept the previous shift’s handover before starting rounds. The report gives you the open work, exceptions, notes, and attachments that may affect your shift.
- Work Offline
  Use offline mode when your route has poor or no connectivity. Synchronize first so the assigned rounds and required data are available on the device.
- Offline Capability Matrix
  Use this matrix to understand which round activities are available offline, what must be downloaded first, and what synchronizes after connectivity returns.
- Review and Sync the Outbox
  Use the Outbox to review work saved on the device while offline. Entries synchronize automatically after the device reconnects.
- Review an Entry Waiting to Synchronize
  Check an Outbox entry that remains waiting after connectivity returns. The status helps you determine whether to wait for background synchronization or report the problem.
- Find Your Way Around the App
  Use the Home, Rounds, Issues, Actions, and More screens to find assigned work, track progress, report findings, and complete shift activities.
Find and Claim Your Rounds
Use the Rounds screen to begin assigned work, claim an open round, create an ad hoc round from an available predefined plan, or release work you cannot continue.
Execute the Round
Execute a round by following the route, verifying each asset when required, completing the configured tasks, handling exceptions, and submitting the finished record.
Choose an Issue or an Action
Choose how to record follow-up work when a round reveals an abnormal condition or a separately assignable activity.
Close Your Shift
End the shift by bringing active work to a safe stopping point, recording unresolved conditions, and submitting a clear handover to the incoming shift.
Find and Manage Rounds, Issues, and Actions
Use search and filters when you need to find a specific round, Issue, or Action without scanning every record in the list.
Troubleshoot Common Problems
Use this guidance when a round, scan, response, handover, or synchronization step does not work as expected.
Customize Your Settings
Use your profile settings to keep the app aligned with your plant, unit, position, shift, language, and preferred display.

Log in with SAP IDP

Use SAP Identity Provider credentials when your organization has configured SAP IDP for mRounds sign-in.

Have your company or domain name and sign-in credentials ready.

Attention:

Requires SAP integration. This sign-in method is available only when your administrator has configured SAP IDP for your tenant.

To log in using SAP IDP:

Open the mRounds application.
In the Welcome screen, enter company or domain.
Tap Sign In.
In the Sign In screen, enter your registered Email.
Tap Next.
In the Enter Password screen, enter Password.
Tap Sign In.
In the Create Passcode and Confirm Passcode screens, create and confirm app passcode.
In the User Preferences screen, select Plant, Unit, Position, Shift, and Sync Task Reading History.
Tap Save.

The application syncs the data based on the selected preferences and displays the Home screen. For more information, see Work Offline.
