Create a Cooling Water Pump Inspection Round Plan

Use this worked example to see how plan details, assets, tasks, response types, and limits come together in a practical inspection round.

Let's create the Cooling Water Pump Inspection round plan:

Important:
The names and limits in this example are illustrative only. Use the assets, units, acceptable ranges, and actions approved for your site.
  1. In the Round Plans screen, click Create New at the top right corner.
  2. In the Plan Details screen, fill out the following fields:
    • Plan Name: Enter Cooling Water Pump Inspection.
    • Plan Description: Enter Inspect cooling water pumps for leakage, bearing temperature, and vibration to prevent unplanned downtime.
    • Plant: Select 1000.
    • Unit: Select Utilities.
    • Tags: Enter Pump, Cooling Water, Vibration.
  3. Click Save & Next.
  4. In the Select Locations window, choose the route Pump House A.
  5. In the Assets window, select assets P-204, P-205, and P-206.
  6. Click Add Page to create sections.
  7. Add the following sections inside Page 1:
    • Section 1: Visual Checks
    • Section 2: Readings
  8. Open Section 1 and add the following:
    • Task 1: Scan the asset — response type Scan.
    • Task 2: Leakage detected — response type Check box.
  9. In Task 2, add logic for an abnormal reading.
    • If the check box is selected (leakage detected), configure Ask Evidence and Raise Issue.
  10. Open Section 2 and add the following:
    • Task 3: Record bearing temperature — response type Number with unit (°C); Lower Limit 40°C, Upper Limit 80°C.
    • Task 4: Record vibration — response type Number with unit (mm/s); Upper Limit 4.5 mm/s.
    • Add task guidance to both tasks explaining the acceptable range and where to place the sensor. See Choose and Configure Response Types.
    • Conditional Logic: when a Number reading is outside the example limit, configure Ask Evidence. Configure Raise Issue only where the site workflow requires automatic Issue creation.
  11. Click Preview and check the mobile preview.
  12. Click Next to view the preview in PDF format.
  13. Click Send for Approval.

The plan moves into the configured approval workflow. After it is approved and published, it can be scheduled. See Choose How to Schedule a Round.
